Only one big wedding remains on my calendar for this season. It arrives this Saturday as the lovely couple exchanges their vows between an intimate crowd of six thousand. Okay, it’s actually 475, but still the second largest wedding I have been to. The largest was my fathers second.
So this week is devoted to the idea of “true love” and marriage. Before I go off and tell a few adventures – I have this question:
What is the best advice you have heard or given at a wedding?
Come back tomorrow and I’ll have the first in my series on being Everywhere Man at a wedding.
I honestly can't think of anything.
ReplyDeleteI've always heard, Don't go to bed mad. But that's all I can think of.
I liked one I heard about how everyday ahead should be happier than this one. I can't remember how it went but it was pretty cool, something about how today is the least of happy days because all future days should be happier being together.
ReplyDeleteI do not think I have been to enough weddings in the "I'm actually paying attention" capacity to answer your question, unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteOld Scottish proverb
ReplyDelete"Do not marry for money - you can borrow it cheaper." Oh sorry, too late for this is you are already there.
How about "Marriage is like a bank account, the more you put in the more you get to withdraw. Remember to leave it in to get interest and if you withdraw too much out the overdraft charges are a killer!"
