The day after Valentines Day pomes

Anger by Phyllis McGinley

Sticks and stones are hard on bones
aimed with angry art.
Words can sting like anything
but silence breaks the heart.

She by Anonymous

She wore a crooked smile
And it took her quite a while
To see the faults in others

She wore a broken bra
And packed it full of straw
To catch the eyes of brothers

She war a broken heart
And let it fall apart
To feel the pain of mothers

She sits alone today
Laments the days away
With nothing left to offer

Hugs & Kisses from p2
