Time to update the Resume

My good friend Kyle brought something wonderful to my attention over the weekend.

If you go to Google and type in "everywhere man" to the search engine, you will see my little old blog pop up number four in the listing. Wow! It is so humbling to even be on the first page.

As I go over my resume for the three thousand and eighth time… I get to a part of interests, or maybe activities, and I want to put the blog there. As a person in marketing, listing this makes sense as a way to keep up on cutting edge communication (forget that I really only do it because all you sexy ladies read.)

The first three sites listed above mine are lyrics for the famous Johnny Cash song. All of them are for the lyrics. So I could say:

The number one listed blog on Google – It is the first blog on the list when you look under “everywhere man,” so that is kind of true.

Listed number four on Google search engine – which is more accurate than the first statement, but misleading, because you have to look for the right search words.

The popular Everwhere Man blog, with over 13,000 avid annual readers – which is kind of true if each hit counts as a reader… over the one year and one month it has been up.

So you can see my dilemma. New media is hard to incorporate into the resume when applying for an old media kind of career change.
